Some 45 years ago, we were a bunch of youngsters with dreams and goals and all the energy in the world to make them all come true. Today, we realize that there is much more to see in the rear view mirror than through the windshield. But, we've made our mark, we've walked the walk. And through it all, the Class of '71 has seen so much, lived so much, that it's time again to share the stories.

Yes, despite warnings from law enforcement, our 45^th Reunion is coming up Saturday, October 8^th, at Roger and Mary Overton's Villa in the Country. We'll eat, we'll drink, we’ll carry on ‘til the cows come home. So, we'll start at 3pm, but hold off on the real celebration until you show up.

We'll enjoy nothing but the best in culinary delights: smoked pulled pork and chicken, with baked beans and salads from Cal's Fine Food, beginning about 5 pm. Steve Mathews is putting together the official Class of '71 Radio Show for background entertainment, and we're looking for some casual camaraderie. There's even been talk of s’mores around the campfire, weather permitting. Yes, we'll have a great meal, but due to dram shop limitations, (and our reputation as heavy drinkers,) it's bring your own beverage. Whatever that may be. (Water, iced tea & lemonade with meal; ice/refrigeration available, if needed.)

All this, and only $17.00 per classmate, $10.00 for a spouse/friend! But wait, there's more. Well, maybe not, but if you're there, it will certainly seem like it.

• Hwy 92 west to R-57 (Spring Hill pavement,) turn left/south;

• South 2 ½ miles and over metal bridge;

• Pavement turns right/west, do not go straight;

• Stay on pavement 1 ¼ miles to Nevada St. (gravel), turn right/west;

• Overton’s is approx. 1 mile ahead on the left, as the road curves to the right.

***Friday night, Oct. 7^th – Meet up with classmates at the football game against WDM Valley at IHS’s new stadium, across the highway, next to the Middle School, AND/OR at Cal's for food or libations, and fun! Costs are on your own.
